2026 Youth of the Year Luncheon Set for May 19

The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama will host its annual Youth of the Year Luncheon on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel.

Youth of the Year is the premier recognition program for Boys & Girls Clubs, celebrating young leaders who demonstrate academic success, strong character, leadership, and a commitment to serving their communities. The event highlights the voices and achievements of Club members across South Alabama while recognizing the impact the Clubs continue to make in the lives of local youth.

The 2026 Youth of the Year finalists include:

  • Austin English — Bernard Malkove Club, 2026 Organizational Youth of the Year
  • Harmoni Jones — Semmes Club
  • Matthew Green — Sonny Callahan Club
  • Jairon Rogers — Kiwanis Club

Guests will also hear from distinguished keynote speaker Darryl Gaines, Deputy Director of the Exploration Architecture Integration and Science Directorate at NASA Johnson Space Center and a proud Kiwanis Club alumnus. Gaines brings more than 34 years of leadership experience in aeronautics and human spaceflight and currently supports NASA’s Artemis Program and future moon missions. Learn more here.

The luncheon will feature youth speakers, performances, scholarship recognition, alumni spotlights, and community partner participation as supporters come together to celebrate the next generation of leaders.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama remain committed to providing safe spaces, mentorship, academic support, leadership development, and life-changing opportunities that empower young people to reach their full potential.
